Research for Agriculture is a new initiative to bridge the gap between quality research and audience. Founded by a team of communications professionals and in partnership with The Gets, a Sydney-based publishing company with a number of agriculture brands, Research for Agriculture is establishing an engaged community focused on the importance of sharing agricultural research.
Together they hosted a think-tank at the City Tattersalls Club in Sydney for National Agriculture Day 2018. The event centred on the significance of research to agriculture, most notably how Research for Agriculture can work alongside the industry to best make sector research accessible to everyone.

Attendees formed a cross-section of the industry, ranging from scientists to corporates to communications, resulting in some passionate discussion around agricultural research in Australia and abroad.
The event was a great success and marked the official beginning of the exciting journey toward the dissemination of quality agricultural research without paywalls and utilising the very best practices and technologies available to communications professionals.

By the end of the event all attendees agreed they now had a solid understanding of what Research for Agriculture offers and how they and their colleagues can contribute to the vision.
“This was a really friendly and productive gathering of some passionate and highly informed industry stakeholders,” said John Hancock, CEO of Research for Agriculture. “I look forward to the journey and invite everyone to get behind this initiative, made possible by early and solid support of The Gets team.”
