Seafood Directions Gala Dinner for industry and the public celebrates Australia’s seafood industry

Seafood Directions Gala Dinner

To celebrate Australia’s rich, diverse and sustainable seafood, the Victorian seafood industry is hosting a Gala Dinner on Friday October 11, at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, and everyone is welcome!

The dinner is a chance for all seafood lovers, including the general public, to enjoy the best of Australia’s seafood, while also providing a unique opportunity to meet the fishers and farmers who have caught and grown the seafood. The Gala Dinner will celebrate the true supply chain and champion the best of the seafood industry.

The Gala dinner is a collaboration of three of Melbourne’s finest seafood chefs who will be presenting the very best Aussie seafood on the plate. “The opportunity to work with, and bring together Alejandro Saravia (Executive Chef, Pastuso and Farmer’s Daughter), Joseph Goodman (Executive Sous Chef, MCEC) and Nick Mahlook (Executive Chef, the Atlantic) is a dream come true, and the offering for attendees will be something to remember”, said Johnathon Davey, Executive Director of Seafood Industry Victoria.

“These highly respected chefs deal day-in, day-out with Australian seafood,” said Mr. Davey. “The dishes they can plan and deliver when working with such an amazing product is truly perfect. The three chefs will be serving a feasting style menu that will feature Southern rock lobster, oysters, Yumbah abalone, Infinity Blue barramundi, Hiramasa kingfish, Ecomarine Giant Grouper, and more. This will be followed by a deep-sea-inspired dessert.

The dinner is the final part of the three-day Seafood Directions conference being hosted by Seafood Industry Victoria at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 9-11 October 2019. The conference and its associated events bring together hundreds of seafood enthusiasts from across the country to champion and celebrate Australian seafood.
